General Information
The Vushtrri/Vu?itrn Municipality lies between Prishtinë/Priština and Mitrovicë/Mitrovica. While the vast majority of the population is Albanian, there is a significant Serb community and small Turkish, Roma, Ashkali and Circassian communities (to read more about Circassians, click here). The communities communicate through the municipal institutions. According to the Municipal Community Office, the main issues faced by communities in Vushtrri/Vu?itrn today are the high unemployment rate and the socio-economic situation.

Demographics
Most Serbs live in the mono-ethnic village of Priluzje/Prelluzhë, and some smaller communities live in the villages of Gojbulje/Gojbulë and Grace/Gracë. While attempts have been made to facilitate the return process for Serbs to the Banjska/Bajskë village, most returns have not been sustainable and almost no Serbs have settled in the village. Most Roma and Ashkali communities live in the towns of Vushtrri/Vu?itrn and Priluzje/Prelluzhë. Turkish and Circassian community members mostly live in the town of Vushtrri/Vu?itrn.
Accurate population statistics are not available for Kosovo. The numbers presented here are estimates by the Municipal Community Office, cross checked with OSCE Municipal and Community Profiles and civil society organisations. For more information on Statistics in Kosovo click here
