General Information

Since November 2009, Klokot-Vrbovac/Kllokot-Vërboc is a newly established municipality, while it was before a part of Viti/Vitina. This new municipality is composed of the cadastral zones of Klokot/Kllokot, Mogillë/Mogilla and Vrbovac/Verbovc, with a population estimated on 5145 people. The Serbian community is a majority, with a substantial Albanian and Roma community.
The main problems that are faced by the communities is the high unemployment rate, especially among young people; the poor conditions of the infrastructure facilities (roads, sewage system, public transport, water supply, electricity) and the lack of close health care facilities.

Klokot-Vrbovac/Kllokot-Vërboc is inhabited by approximately 5.145 people, with a majority of Serbs. There is Albanian community living  in municipality of Klokot. An official number of Albanian living in Klokot municipality is: 1500. The is  small Roma community in the municipality

Political Representation

The mayor of Klokot-Vrbovac/Kllokot-Vërboc, Saša Mirkovi?, represents the SLS and was elected with 100 percent of the votes (510 votes), since he was the only candidate. The ruling coalition in the municipality is SLS and LDK. The Albanian community is represented in the municipality by the representatives in the assembly, the Deputy Mayor for Communities and the Deputy Chairperson of the Municipal Assembly for Communities.
The official languages in use in the municipality are the Serbian and Albanian, which has been regulated by the Statute of Languages.
The municipality is planning to open an Office for Communities and Returns in the future. They are currently working on the establishment of a Municipal Human Rights Unit.

Safety and Freedom of Movement

The Kosovo Police Services are responsible for guaranteeing security in Klokot-Vrbovac/Kllokot-Vërboc. The communities are partly satisfied with the performance of the KPS. Generally, the communities feel safe to travel and move around the municipality.

There have been no returns reported since the establishment of the new municipality. Main problems affecting the return process are residential problems and the high unemployment.

Economy

The main income sources of the people  are  Agriculture and payment (salary that majority of people that receive form Serbia) on the same  time there is  spa Centar Nana Naile. One of the biggest  spa in the Kosovo.

Health Care
There are two ambulances and two clinics for rehabilitation and treatment under private ownerships in Klokot-Vrbovac / Kllokot-Vërboc. People can easily access the facilities and are helped in their own language. However, there is a lack of health care institutions.

Communities can receive documents in both Serbian and Albanian. There have been no registered problems among communities with communicating with public institutions.
