General Information
Hani i Elezit/ Elez Hanis a municipality located in the south-eastern part of Kosovo, bordering Kaçanik/Ka?anik in the north and Skopje (FYR Macedonia) in the south. Since August 2008, Hani I Elezit/ Elez Han is a fully fledged municipality. Before it was a part of Kaçanik/Ka?anik. The municipality has a total of 10 villages, from which two are not inhabited. The population is estimated at 10.000 inhabitants, with a very small community of Bosniaks (13 members). Following the municipality, this community is fully integrated in the municipality.

Demographics
In the municipality live about 10.000 people, which a small Bosniak community residing in the village of Paldenicë. There is no exact information on how the demographics changed after 1999.

Political Representation
The mayor of Hani I Elezit/ Elez Hanis is LDK representative Rufki Suma, who got elected in two rounds with 53,13 percent of votes. The ruling coalition is made up from the LDK and AAK. Following the municipality officials, the Bosniak community is not officially represented the municipality's official bodies.

Safety and Freedom of Movement
There have been no incidents reported in the past year concerning ethnically motivated threats, hostility or violence. The Municipality underlined that the Bosniak Community is fully integrated in the municipality and not the subject of any incident. The Kosovo Police Service is primarily responsible for the security and has not received any complaint from the municipality's residents which feel safe to move around the municipality. Besides the KPS, the municipality has appointed a committee for safety, which holds meetings every month.

Education
The educational facilities that are offered in the municipality begin from pre-school until secondary education. There are eight schools in total, all of them are organized in the Albanian language. The Bosniak community participates in the same schools.

Health Care
Most of the community members receive their health care in the major hospital center for Family Health, where they do not experience any problems in being helped in their own language.

Other Public Institutions
The members of the community are able to receive documents in their own language and do not experience any problems in communicating with the official institutions.
