General Information
Kaçanik/Kacanik is an almost completely mono-ethnic municipality located on the road between Prishtinë/Priština and Skopje. With the exception of a handful of Roma community members, the population of the municipality is completely Albanian, which is estimated at 38170. The most important issue facing the Roma is the lack of employment opportunities, next to the poor road infrastructure, a lack of water supply, the lack of a sewage system and the lack of school space.
