The Mayor of Klinë/Klina, Sokol Bashota, was elected in the second round, with 57 percent of votes. He represents the PDK and this party governs in coalition with the LDK and LDD. Non-majority communities are not represented in the municipal assembly. However, the municipal administration has two Serb employees, one Roma and one Egyptian working in the Local Office for Communities. In addition the Head of the Local Office for Community is from the Serbian Community.
Safety and Freedom of Movement
The Kosovo Police Service and KFOR are responsible for security in the municipality and communities are satisfied with their performance. In the last year there have been no incidents as attested to by the information presented in the Security Council and Communities Committee and the records of the Kosovo Police. In addition, community members have complete freedom of movement within the municipality.
Education
In Klinë/Klina education is offered at the following levels: pre-primary, primary and secondary. It should be noted also that in the village of Videjë there is a primary school teaching in the Serbian language and this school is not included within the educational system of Kosovo. It works with the Serbian curriculum and workers are paid by the Serbian authorities.
The communities with most difficulty in accessing education are the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians. These communities are faced with serious social and economic problems and a lack of transportation around the villages, directly impacting their ability to attend school.

Returns
According to the municipal authorities the main issue affecting the return process is finding sufficient funding for the necessary projects. The process is also being held up by disputes over the ownership of property and these are particularly time consuming. In 2009 there were no recorded incidents of hostility or violence toward returnees.
The municipality has not yet compiled data on internally displaced persons and those living abroad and so was unable to provide figures.
